Concept2 Workout Types: Concept2 ergometers support several workout types: single distance, single time, intervals (distance/time), variable intervals, and just row — each configurable on the PM5 monitor.

What is Concept2 Workout Types?

The PM5 monitor on Concept2 ergometers offers several workout configuration types. Single Distance: row a set distance (e.g., 2000m, 5000m) — the monitor counts down metres remaining. Single Time: row for a set time (e.g., 30:00, 60:00) — the monitor counts down time remaining. Intervals (Distance): repeated distance pieces with set rest (e.g., 8×500m with 1:00r). Intervals (Time): repeated time pieces with set rest (e.g., 4×4:00 with 2:00r). Variable Intervals: custom combinations of different distances/times and rest periods. Just Row: open-ended rowing with no target — counts up distance and time. The PM5 also supports custom workout lists that can be created via the Concept2 Utility app or USB. Pre-programmed standard workouts include common pieces like 2000m, 5000m, and 30 minutes.

How do I set up an interval workout on the PM5?
From the main menu: Select Workout > New Workout > Intervals: Distance or Intervals: Time. Enter the work distance/time, rest time, and number of intervals. Press the button to start when ready.
What is Just Row?
Just Row is an open-ended workout with no set distance or time target. The monitor counts up, displaying current split, stroke rate, distance, and time. Useful for warm-ups, cool-downs, or unstructured training.
Can I save custom workouts on the PM5?
Yes. Create custom workouts using the Concept2 Utility app on your phone, then transfer to the PM5 via Bluetooth. Custom workouts appear in your Favourites list. You can also create them directly on the PM5.
