Concept2 Challenges

By the Watta Team · Updated

Concept2 Challenges: Concept2 Challenges are seasonal online events where rowers worldwide log metres on the Concept2 Logbook to earn badges and compete on leaderboards.

What is Concept2 Challenges?

Concept2 runs several official challenges throughout the year that motivate rowers to accumulate metres. Major challenges include: Holiday Challenge (24 Nov - 24 Dec, 100K-200K target), Fall Challenge (September-October, 100K-200K target), and the Virtual Team Challenge. Participants log workouts on the Concept2 Online Logbook (manually or via ErgData) and track progress towards targets. Challenges award digital badges, provide leaderboard rankings, and create a sense of community among erg users worldwide. The challenges are free to enter and open to all Concept2 users. Many rowing clubs use challenges as motivation tools, creating internal leaderboards and team targets alongside the official Concept2 rankings.

How Watta Uses Concept2 Challenges

Watta complements Concept2 Challenges by providing Effort Score data for every session logged. While the Concept2 Logbook tracks metres, Watta tracks the quality and effort behind those metres — helping athletes balance volume goals with training quality during challenges.
