Concept2 Logbook

By the Watta Team · Updated

Concept2 Logbook: The Concept2 Online Logbook is a free web-based platform where rowers manually log erg workouts, track metres, participate in challenges, and compare rankings.

What is Concept2 Logbook?

The Concept2 Online Logbook has been the default tracking platform for erg rowers since the early 2000s. Users manually enter workout data (distance, time, split) or sync from the ErgData app. The logbook tracks lifetime metres, provides seasonal and all-time rankings by age and weight category, and hosts challenges (e.g., Holiday Challenge, Fall Challenge). It is free to use and has a large global user base. However, the logbook has limitations: no effort scoring, no heart rate integration, basic analytics, and a dated web interface. It provides a historical record but limited training insights.

How Watta Uses Concept2 Logbook

Watta complements the Concept2 Logbook by providing what it lacks: AI-powered data capture (no manual entry), heart rate integration, the multi-component Effort Score, and trend analysis. Many users log in both Watta (for analytics and effort tracking) and the Concept2 Logbook (for rankings and challenges).

Create a free account at log.concept2.com. You can enter workouts manually, sync from the ErgData app via Bluetooth, or upload from a USB flash drive connected to the PM5.

The Logbook has a field for average heart rate but provides no analysis, zone calculation, or heart rate-based effort scoring. It is simply a data field for record-keeping.
